Madhuri Recalls Working with Ranjeet in a Challenging Scene

In his statement, Ranjeet reminisces about an incident involving Madhuri Dixit on the set of a film. He recalls that Madhuri started crying and refused to do a particular scene. Ranjeet was initially unaware of the situation and only found out about it from an art director, who happened to be Bengali. The director of the film was Bapu, who hailed from the southern part of India.

Ranjeet also shares some lighthearted moments from the sets, mentioning how he used to have fun by making jokes with his co-stars. He recalls a specific instance where he would humorously tell his co-stars to turn their face the other way so that he could change. Additionally, he mentions that he was not accustomed to visiting the makeup room and had a very normal approach on set. Despite this, he felt accepted by the others, as he believes that if he had behaved differently, people might have considered him fake.

The speaker shared a disturbing account of a scene involving a handcart in a movie. Madhuri’s father in the movie is depicted as poor and used to pull a handcart. The scene of molestation took place on this handcart, and the speaker expressed feeling left in the dark about the situation while waiting for Madhuri. Eventually, she agreed to the scene. Veeru Devgan, the fight master, emphasized the importance of continuous filming during the scene, stating “beech mein camera cut nahi hona chahiye” (the scene shouldn’t be cut in between). The speaker also disturbingly stated that molestation is considered a part of their job and that it was compulsory with every heroine, implying that it is a common and expected occurrence in the industry.
