Lok Sabha elections 2024 LIVE: After concluding its hectic deliberations with political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is likely to announce the voting and results dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections today. With its J&K visit, the poll body concluded its pan-India survey and there’s a strong buzz that the Lok Sabha dates announcement may take place anytime now.
Meanwhile, as per Network18’s Mega Opinion Poll, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “400 paar” target for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. NDA is set to win 411 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha with the BJP alone bagging a record 350 seats, the opinion poll predicted.
While the BJP on Wednesday released its second list naming a total of 250 candidates for the upcoming polls, the Congress party has so far announced the names of 82 candidates.
