Little-known tip helps Orlando tourists stay prepared and save hundreds | Travel News | Travel

The holiday booking company AttractionTickets.com has shared a number of tips to help tourists who are set to visit Orlando.

The area in Florida is well-known for featuring a wide variety of theme parks that feature something for the whole family, including Sea World, Universal Studios and Disney World.

Emma Woodward-Clark, a Disney fan who has visited the company’s theme park eight times, suggested that tourists in Orlando should be prepared for all kinds of weather.

She advised: “Weather conditions vary depending on the time of the year. We have visited [in] April, May, July, and August and all were very hot! The typical Florida daily downpour doesn’t usually last very long and is often a welcome break from the heat.

“The summer months of July and August can be very humid a lot of the time. September is known to be hurricane season and the weather can be a lot more mixed then. Plan for plenty of brakes and time in the shade to break the day up.”

Another tip offered by the Disney World expert was to make sure that tourists have an itinerary planned that can help them make the most of their time away.

Whilst many travellers enjoy the freedom of not being stuck down to a daily routine, some of the most popular attractions in the resort can have queues that take over an hour to get through.

As a result, it is important that visitors think about what they would like to do on each day that they are away to avoid missing out on certain areas of the resort.

Emma also noted that visitors thinking about staying at a Disney hotel or villa should consider how they travel to the park, which could help them to avoid spending hundreds of pounds on a rental car.

She continued: “We hired a car the year we stayed in the villa, but in subsequent years have used a private transfer from the airport to the hotel and then used Disney transport – buses, boats or monorails to get around, and, of course, most recently the Skyliner.

“Depending on your preferred park, a resort with the Skyliner can be a great option for getting between accomodation and the park very quickly and efficiently.”

Finally, the Disney fanatic reminded tourists that, whilst the food at Disney World can be expensive compared to cafes and restaurants outside of the park, it is typically worth paying for.

She added: “I find the food at Disney, in general, to be of good quality – even at the quick-serve restaurants. On adults-only trips, the dining is a big part of the experience for us so we would typically have sit-down evening meals planned and would maybe go to the park a little later in the day and stay well into the evening.

“For something really special try Victoria and Albert’s inside the Grand Floridian. California Grill is also very good. I’m a fan of Winnie the Pooh so enjoy a character meal at Crystal Palace.”
