Under Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme, a network of expressways is set to redefine travel across the nation.

India’s road infrastructure has been improving over the years, and the government has been trying to connect every urban area with small towns.

Under the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme, Indian roadways have been constantly expanding, with many new expressways and improvements to the existing roads. Here’s a list of upcoming expressways across India, as reported by Pune Pulse.

Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway

This project will cover a distance of 63 km in Uttar Pradesh. With the creation of this Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, the travel time between Kanpur and Lucknow will be cut down to just 60 minutes.

Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway

The Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway will be made for a distance of approximately 262 km. It will reduce the travel time between the two cities to just 2 hours. This expressway will cover various states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Indore-Hyderabad Expressway

This expressway will travel through Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana. The total distance of the expressway is said to be around 525 km, reducing the travel time between Indore and Hyderabad.

Amritsar-Bhatinda-Jamnagar Expressway

Amritsar-Bhatinda-Jamnagar Expressway will start in Amritsar and travel via Bhatinda to finally reach Jamnagar. It will reportedly cover a distance of 917 km. The route will cover Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Surat-Nashik-Solapur Expressway

This expressway will follow the route of Surat-Nashik-Ahmednagar-Solapur and will be access-controlled. Reports suggest that it will cover a distance of 730 kilometres through Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway

Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway will reportedly cover a distance of 669 km and will shorten the travel time between Delhi and Katra to just 6 hours. The expressway will cross Haryana and Punjab.

Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway

This expressway is being created to connect Varanasi and Kolkata via the route of Ranchi. It will be an access-controlled corridor and cover 612 kilometres, as per reports. It will travel through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Earlier, it took 15 hours to reach Kolkata from Varanasi. Now, it will take just 9 hours.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway

The Delhi-Dehradun expressway will follow the route of Saharanpur. It will be covering Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The approximately 239-km-long expressway will cut travel time to 2.5 hours.

Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Expressway

The Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam expressway will cover a distance of 222 km, according to reports. It will travel through Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

This motorway is one of the highlights of the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme. The 1,386-km-long expressway is under construction and people can travel between two cities in just 12 hours. It will cover Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Maharashtra.
