Chennai: Tamil actor Joesph Vijay popularly known as stars in the upcoming movie “The Greatest of All Time” (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film is expected to release in theaters on September 5, 2024. In an interview, Premalatha, wife of the late actor turned politician, Vijayakanth said the film will use AI to recreate her late husband Vijayakanth for a cameo appearance. According to a Pinkvilla report, director Venkat Prabhu reportedly met with Premalatha Vijayakanthto get permission for the AI recreation, and Thalapathy Vijay is also expected to meet with her soon. Late Tamil Actor Vijaykanth To Make a Cameo In GOAT
Premlatha confided that her husband, were he still alive, would have surely approved of Vijay. With that in mind, she assured him that she and her sons would carefully consider his proposal and likely reach a positive decision.
Premlatha confirmed that Venkat Prabhu had visited her house multiple times to seek permission to use Captain Vijaykanth’s AI cameo. Premlatha is also a politician who is currently the President of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) and is busy with Lok Sabha elections coming ahead.
Premlatha said, “Venkat Prabhu visited our house 4-5 times and had several rounds of talks with my son. He also requested him to meet me, adding that Vijay wanted to meet me in person (sic).”
The actor’s late wife added, “Thinking from Captain’s point of view and what he would have said. He always loved Vijay and his father, SA Chandrasekhar. I know how Captain loved them both. If Captain was alive, he would never say no (sic).” However, it is to be noted that the makers of the film have assured that they are actively using Artificial Intelligence to see a younger version of Thalapathy Vijay.

The new poster for the upcoming film “GOAT” showcases Vijay in double roles. One character appears to be younger, likely achieved with the use of de-aging technology. To portray this character, Vijay adopted a clean-shaven look. This marks director Venkat Prabhu’s first collaboration with Vijay. The movie also boasts a star-studded cast including Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Yogi Babu. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music, with Siddhartha Nuni behind the cinematography and Venkat Raajen on editing duties. The film is slated for a worldwide release on September 5, 2024.
