‘Laapata Ladies’ box office collection day 12: The Kiran Rao directorial earns a low Rs 33 lakh on second Tuesday | Hindi Movie News

Kiran Rao‘s directorial ‘Laapataa Ladies‘ produced by Aamir Khan is getting rave reviews from all over. It has continued to see some bit of growth due to positive word of mouth, though the numbers are really less, overall. The film is facing competition from Yami Gautam starrer ‘Article 370‘ which also has been doing well. And now, with the release of ‘Shaitaan’, the numbers of ‘Laapataa Ladies’ have gone lower.
On Monday, the film made only Rs 3 lakh, which was disappointing. But it saw some growth and made Rs 33 lakh on Tuesday. With that, the 12 day total collection of the film is Rs 9.38 crore.
The film is based is a funny take on take on two brides in rural India. Set in a fictitious state called Nirmal Pradesh in 2001, Laapataa Ladies is a story of the brides Phool and Pushpa. They accidentally get swapped during a train journey. While one is taken home by another’s groom, the other is left stranded at a railway station. A police officer, Kishan, takes it upon himself to probe the case.
It stars newcomers Pratibha Ratna, Sparsh Shrivastav, and Nitanshi Goel, along with Ravi Kishan.
