Filmmaker Karan Johar recently had a lighthearted moment with actor Varun Dhawan at the Amazon Prime Video event held in Mumbai. The event, which focused on promoting the streaming giant’s shows like Fallout and Citadel, saw a heartwarming exchange between the two stars.

As host, KJo introduced Varun, who plays the lead role in the upcoming Citadel spin-off, Citadel Honey Bunny. Varun, in a gesture of respect, touched Karan’s feet on stage. This left KJo momentarily surprised, leading to laughter from the audience.
Taking to Instagram later, KJo shared a photo from the event with a funny caption. He wrote, referencing his youthful spirit, “Varun [Dhawan] seeking my ‘blessing’… my expression in deep denial of my age! Varun you’re my friend yaar! Don’t make me a father figure! (my inner wannabe gen z woke up).”
The event generated significant buzz around Citadel Honey Bunny. The teaser launch left Karan Johar impressed, prompting him to remark, “When did you become hot?” to Varun, who plays the lead role. Citadel Honey Bunny is a highly anticipated project with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles.
The event also saw Varun express his gratitude to the makers of Citadel. He revealed his admiration for the directors Raj & DK. Varun humorously admitted reaching out to them after being impressed by their work on The Family Man season 2.
He stated, “I told DK, ‘I am a big fan of your work. How do I work with you both?'” Varun went on to thank Karan Johar for launching his career in Student Of The Year (2012), saying, “To have this special day with Karan Johar means the world to me. I wouldn’t be on this stage or any stage in life if not for this man.”
