Following the success of his Netflix film Unlocked, director Kim Tae Joon returns with a brand new heart-pounding thriller, Wall to Wall. This intriguing feature delves into the story of Woo Seong (played by the celebrated Kang Ha Neul), a man whose dream of owning an apartment quickly transforms into a terrifying ordeal.
Kang Ha Neul, Yeom Hye Ran and Seo Hyun Woo to star in Netflix thriller Wall to Wall
Kang, known for his roles in Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet, Midnight Runners, Moon Lovers, Love Reset and When the Camellia Blooms, portrays Woo Seong. Desperate to secure his own place, Woo Seong throws everything he has at achieving his goal. This includes depleting his savings, taking risky stock investments, acquiring loans, and even sacrificing his mother’s garlic farm. However, the euphoria of finally owning an apartment is short-lived. Woo Seong is soon confronted by the brutal reality of crippling high-interest payments, and to make matters worse, he’s plagued by nightly disturbances emanating from his neighbours’ apartments.
Yeom Hye Ran joins the cast as Eun Hwa, the resident representative tasked with maintaining peace and order within the apartment complex. Rounding out the impressive ensemble is Seo Hyun Wwoo from My Name is Loh Kiwan and Decision to Leave as Jin Ho, Woo Seong’s upstairs neighbour. As the strange noises persist, Woo Seong and Jin Ho are forced to join forces to uncover the source of the unsettling sounds that disrupt their lives.
Director Kim Tae Joon garnered critical acclaim for his ability to craft suspenseful narratives set against the backdrop of ordinary situations. In Unlocked, he excelled at weaving a thrilling story from everyday experiences. With Wall to Wall, he takes this concept a step further, building suspense within the familiar confines of an apartment complex. Here, the protagonist, burdened by financial woes, finds himself entangled in a web of mystery as unidentified noises torment him nightly.
