Kaizer Chiefs are ready to make some big changes on and off the field ahead of next season.

Chiefs are set to announce a new coach before the next campaign with some players to help him on his quest.

Attack is clearly one of the departments that Chiefs will be looking to address next season, judging by the links. Amakhosi’s forwards have fired blanks in the past two seasons, a trend the new coach will be looking to fix. That is not surprise then to see the likes of Percy Tau, Luther Singh, Oswin Appollis and Tshepang Moremi

Chiefs were thought to have agreed a deal for Makgalwa

But before they can even look at those signings, it is believed Chiefs have already added to their attack. In January, the Glamour Boys did not make any official signings. Interim coach Cavin Johnson always alluded to the media that he wouldn’t dip into the market. Johnson claimed he needed more time coaching his current crop and giving them all a fair shot.  Team Manager Bobby Motaung would also confirm that there would be no signings made by the club during that window.

But one player that was profusely linked to Chiefs was former Mamelodi Sundowns player Kekeletso Makgalwa. According to reports in January, Amakhosi as well as Upington FC already have a deal agreed, which will come into effect during the transfer window.

But now, according to KickOff.comThere is no agreement between Chiefs and Upington for Makgalwa.

False news?

“How can I allow Keletso to go? No one even knows who’s gonna coach the club (next season). So, you need to understand who is going to coach the club before you let the player go. You need to understand the project that you’re going into. There’s nothing agreed with Chiefs, I’ve never spoken to Chiefs regarding this or Upington speaking to Chiefs.

“Makgalwa joined Upington on a free transfer, after leaving Sundowns permanently in the off-season. He managed to score 10 goals in 22 matches for them, a feat that seems to have attracted Chiefs. Nothing. There’s no communication. It’s just fake rumours,” said Makgalwa’s agent Ntobatsi Masegela

Makgalwa scored 11 goals for Upington last season. Will those numbers take him to Chiefs?
