Jamie Oliver’s ‘super quick’ beef curry recipe can be made in just 15 minutes

Many people are looking for something quick and cheerful to make as in summer they do not want to spend time cooking in a hot kitchen, which is why curry is the perfect dish to make.

Jamie Oliver’s beef kofta curry is not only tasty but a great dinner recipe for anyone wanting something fast and homemade as it only takes 15 minutes to make from scratch.

In his cookbook ‘15-Minute Meals’, Jamie said: “Curries don’t have to cook for ages, this aromatic beef curry is super quick and full of flavour. ”

This is a great midweek dinner as it will likely be loved by both adults and children as it is packed with tender beef koftas, and sauteed vegetables made in a creamy sauce.

Not only is it easy to make but the curry only needs one frying pan to make, which can also help you save time on washing up afterwards

Method 

To begin, place the lentils in a bowl and season with salt and pepper, then add the garam masala and beef mince.

Mix and scrunch together the mixture with clean wet hands, and then divide the mixture in half and mould each half into six sausage-like shapes.

Place the beef sausages (koftas) in a frying pan along with one tablespoon of olive oil, and cook until golden.

Add the tomatoes to a food processor or liquidiser, then add the ginger, spring onions, chilli, turmeric, honey, curry paste and coconut milk. Blitz until you have a smooth sauce.

Pour the sauce into the same frying pan as the beef koftas, bring to a boil, simmer, and then season to taste.

As the curry sauce is cooking place the uncooked poppadoms in the oven to puff them up and place the rice in a pot to boil it, making sure to follow the packet instructions.

Once the curry is cooked and bubbling, finely slice the rest of the chilli and scatter the over the curry. If you prefer, add some coriander leaves and a dollop of yoghurt to the top of the curry as well.

Your tasty and quick curry is now ready to serve with rice and poppadoms.
