IET announces scholarship award for engineering students in India: Offers a cash prize of 10 lakh; check eligibility here

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has invited applications for the eighth edition of the IET India Scholarship Award, with a total prize of Rs 10 lakh.
The scholarship opportunity is open to undergraduate engineering students enrolled in AICTE/UGC-approved institutions in the country. Applications are now being accepted until May 31 via the official website, scholarships.theietevents.com.
The IET stands for the Institution of Engineering and Technology.It’s a large professional organization for engineers and technicians around the world, with over 155,000 members in 148 countries.
“As technology continues to transform our world, nurturing and recognising the next generation of engineering leaders becomes increasingly important. The IET India Scholarship Award is our way of recognising and encouraging engineering talent” Education Times quoted Shekhar Sanyal, Director and Country Head of IET India, in its report.
To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must be enrolled in undergraduate engineering programmes at AICTE/UGC-approved institutes or national institutions. They must have successfully completed all regular credit courses in a single attempt. Furthermore, applicants must maintain a minimum aggregate of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale throughout their undergraduate studies.
The award’s evaluation criteria include academic excellence, participation in extracurricular activities, community engagement, and innovative problem-solving abilities to address societal issues. During the initial screening phase, students are chosen based on their academic performance and extracurricular activities, according to the report by the Education Times.
