Huge new water attractions to open across Europe – with sandy beaches, lagoons & hotels

CITIES across Europe are set to be given huge new water attractions, providing them with a taste of beach life.

Wind-surfing, swimming and sunbathing aren’t often the easiest things to do in the middle of a city.

However, company Crystal Lagoons is hoping to change that for people who don’t have access to the seaside.

After launching plans in Prague, Warsaw, Bucharest, and Budapest, the company is now planning on bringing its Public Access Lagoons (PALs) to the rest of Europe.

Plans are now in place for lagoons to be made in Rome, Milan, Toulouse and Seville, as well as two additional Romanian cities.

The company say that the PALs can bring “an idyllic beach life just steps from home”.

The central piece of the attractions is a large crystalline lagoon, which is suitable for both swimming and water sports.

Kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing and others are all on the cards in the huge pools.

The lagoons are going to be surrounded by white artificial sandy beaches, which anyone can access for an entrance fee.

The new complexes will then be surrounded by residential areas, hotels, stores, restaurants and other facilities to make the beaches more than just a pool.

Lucian Azoiței, CEO of Forty Management, who work with Crystal Lagoons said: “We will bring beach life to the most amazing European cities and improve the quality of life through sustainable projects.”

Jean Pierre Juanchich, Global Business Director of Crystal Lagoons, added: “The disruptive innovation of Crystal Lagoons technology allows us to bring beach life in a sustainable way to any place in the world.

“Even in cities that would be unthinkable like Rome, Milan or Toulouse.”

No specific details have yet been revealed about the new sites, other than the fact they are in the works.
