Huawei’s Meng Wanzhou back at the helm of firm ahead of next flagship smartphone launch

Meng, daughter of Huawei founder and chief executive Ren Zhengfei, on Tuesday assumed the position of rotating and acting chairwoman at the company for a six-month tenure ending on March 31 next year, the Shenzhen-based firm said in a statement published on Monday.
In her latest stint as rotating chairwoman, Meng is expected to oversee the launch this fourth quarter of Huawei’s next flagship 5G handset series, the Mate 70, as well as the continued resurgence of the company’s smartphone business.

According to reports and leaked images online, the new flagship smartphone series is expected to be released in various models including the basic Mate 70 as well as the higher-specification Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+ and Mate 70 RS Ultimate.
