How to make a poached egg: Chef tried more than 10 recipes – here’s the best

A foodie who loves to cook has found a brilliant way to make poached eggs. Samira Kazan, who won on the Netflix show ‘Crazy Delicious’, has tried loads of ways to cook them. She told her TikTok fans, who are more than 720K strong: “I tried more than 10 methods to make the perfect poached eggs and this is the most stable one.”

Next, she puts a heat-proof cup in boiling water and adds the egg into it. The egg cooks right inside the cup. When it’s done, she lifts out the cup with a strainer and dries the egg on kitchen paper.

Samira shared: “I dropped just a small cup so the eggs don’t go everywhere, like what normally happens when eggs aren’t coming immediately from the chicken.”

Some say you can just use a microwave. One person commented: “Put it in a cup then the microwave.”

Another person gave their own tip: “You can just get a cup of water (room temperature) crack an egg into the cup. Put a plate over the cup with the egg in, and put it in the microwave for 45sec.”

One person shared a super easy tip: “Egg in boiling water in a cup in the microwave for 40 seconds for anyone that wants it easier.”

Some folks stick to the old ways with vinegar. Someone advised: “Teaspoon of vinegar and drop the eggs from the surface of the water that’s all you need.”

“No,” another chimed in, “just add vinegar to the boiling water and then swirl the water around. Add the egg and it’ll shape itself.”

A different clever person showed how to get the perfect egg yolk every time, without even poaching.

The eggs had amazing thick, runny, orange yolks and looked so yummy.

A nutrition expert explained: “This is my foolproof method, especially if you hate poaching eggs, to give you that gloriously rich runny yolk every time.”
