Mumbai: The recently released Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, has been grabbing headlines for multiple reasons. Firstly it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut OTT series. Secondly, the audience is now actively engaging in the discussions and deliberations of the periodical drama. Recently, Bhansali’s Heeramandi once again came to the limelight when actor Indresh Malik, who played the role of a Ustaad revealed that Sonakshi Sinha had bought her mother while shooting intimate scenes on sets which made him feel uncomfortable. Why Sonakshi Sinha Bought Her Mother On Set While Shooting Intimate Scenes

During a candid conversation with Bollywood Now, Indresh Malik recalled a moment when Sonakshi Sinha came along with her mother Poonam Sinha to shoot an intimate scene involving Indresh, initially he felt shy shooting in front of her mother, as the scene involved Sonakshi grabbing Indresh’s head with her legs, which ultimately made him shy in front of Poonam Sinha.

Indresh said, “During one scene, Sonakshi ji had to grab my head with her legs. Her mother Poonam Sinha ji was also present, which made me a bit self-conscious. However, Sonakshi reassured me. She told me not to be conscious, asked me to relax, made me comfortable, and said she would do the necessary. I have such lovely memories from the show’s set (sic).”

In another sequence of the series where Indresh was asked to act in an intimate scene with Jason Shah who played the character of Mr Alastair Cartwright. He mentioned talking about the intimate scene with Bhansali. He added, “The scene didn’t need many retakes, which was satisfying because Sanjay sir doesn’t settle until he achieves what he wants. He’s such a perfectionist. Although I was nervous about the scene since it featured a man being close to another man, Jason and I discussed it beforehand for about an hour and then went with the flow (sic).”

Talking about his character Ustaad, who is a queer, Indresh explained what he thought about his roles in Bhansali’s Heeramandi. Indresh added, “That character has all sorts of emotions. As soon as I got a call from the casting department, I responded that it’s made for me (sic).”
