Indresh Malik, known for his versatile roles in projects like Gumraah, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and more, is set to make waves in the Indian entertainment scene with his portrayal of a bisexual character in the upcoming Netflix series Heeramandi. This highly anticipated show, set against the backdrop of pre-Independence India, explores themes of love, identity, and acceptance in society. Indresh Malik’s character is said to add depth and representation, shedding light on the often marginalized aspect of bisexuality.

Joining Indresh Malik in this groundbreaking series are acclaimed actors such as Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal essaying the role of courtesans. Apart from them, the show also features Shekhar Suman, Taha Shah Badussha, Adhyayan Suman, and Fardeen Khan as Nawabs whose hearts are ruled by these courtesans.
Produced by acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Heeramandi promises to be a visual spectacle, blending grandeur with thought-provoking storytelling. Marking the debut of the filmmaker in the web-series medium, with the British Raj trying to protect its hold on India and courtesans fighting for their rights and hearts, the show will trace the journey of Heeramandi – a street ruled by courtesans, especially Mallika jaan aka Manisha Koirala. The show will premiere on Netflix on May 1.
