‘Gorgeously golden’ air fryer roast potatoes cook in just 30 minutes

Cooking perfect roast potatoes is a labour of love which is why many people turn to supermarket alternatives, like Aunt Bessie’s.

It’s no secret that nothing beats the taste, and satisfaction of mastering homemade roasties, and those with an air fryer can do it with ease.

This quick and easy recipe by the chefs at Tesco forgoes the large glugs of oil used in most recipes and takes a fraction of the time.

The Tesco Real Food recipe promises “gorgeously golden and flavourful roasties”, cooked with garlic cloves and fresh rosemary.

It’s so popular it’s garnered 192 ratings from roast potato fans with a four-out-of-five star rating.

Method

Always parboil potatoes before cooking them for the best crunch.

To do this, bring a large pan of water to the boil. Add the potatoes, which should be peeled and chopped into 3cm chunks, then return the water to a boil and cook for eight minutes.

Drain the potatoes well and return them to the dry pan. Meanwhile, preheat the air-fryer to 200C, then shake the pan of potatoes to roughen the edges.

Add the rosemary and garlic, drizzle over the oil and sprinkle with salt, then shake to coat.

Tip into the air-fryer basket and cook for 18-20 minutes, shaking after 10 minutes, until golden brown at the edges.

Serve piping hot with a delicious roast dinner, which you can cook exclusively in an air fryer.
