Google’s best photo editing tools are now free in latest phone upgrade for Android AND iPhone

GOOGLE is making some of its premium photo editing features free for everyone – including iPhone users.

Google Photos is the company’s popular image storage app, which stores more than 4trillion photos for over a billion users worldwide.

Magic Editor, Photo Unblur and Magic Erase were previously exclusive to paid Google Photos users or those who own the latest Google Pixel.

Magic Editor allows you to seamlessly move objects around in images, while Photo Unblur will fix fuzzy shots and Magic Erase can take out unwanted objects.

But in the latest change for both Android and iOS they will be free to access.

There’s been a lot of talk about tech companies charging for their top AI features lately – even Samsung is mulling over whether to makes its latest Galaxy AI enhancements a paid privilege.

Google is even considering a paid version of its famed search engine pumped with AI, according to recent reports.

On the photo front, the firm is freeing things up – though there are some limitations.

Google says its AI editing features will be available freely from May 15.

But you can only make ten saved edits per month for free.

Paid subscribers and Pixel owners can create as many as they like.

The freebie doesn’t include all Google’s AI goodies either – Best Take and Audio Magic Eraser remain exclusive to the Pixel 8 for now.

Like anything, you’ll still need to meet the minimum device requirements as well for them to work properly.

But the vast majority of people should be covered easily.

You’ll need to be running at least iOS 15 or Android 8.0 and your phone must have at least a 64-bit chip and 4GB of RAM.
