Godzilla x Kong‘ extended its monstrous reign over the North American box office for a second weekend.
The feature, which sees the enormous gorilla and reptilian giant set their differences aside and team up to save their species — and ours — took in an estimated Rs 6.25 Crore on Sunday, according to early estimates by sacnilk.com.
The Monsterverse film took the number 1 spot at the Indian box office in its opening weekend and raked in a 7-day collection of an estimated Rs 57.75 crore.The film maintained its hold over the ticket windows, in its second weekend, earning Rs 3 crore on Friday. It saw good growth on Saturday and Sunday, recording collections of Rs 5.25 crore and Rs 6.25 crore respectively.Its second-week total stands at an estimated Rs 14.5 crore.
‘Godzilla x Kong’ now has an estimated 10-day collection of Rs 72.25 crore, with its original English version scoring the highest collection of Rs 32.3 crore. It is followed closely behind by the Hindi dubbed version which earned an estimated Rs 20.65 crore. The Tamil version earned an estimated Rs 12.55 crore and the Telugu dubbed version earned Rs 6.75 crore.

The film also scored the highest collection at the North American box office for a second weekend. The MonsterVerse mashup brought in $31.7 million over its second weekend. Directed by Adam Wingard, has thus far outperformed any of the studio’s recent monster films except for 2014’s ‘Godzilla’.
The film which has been enjoying its time at the top of the Indian box office, will face stiff competition this week with the release of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff‘s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan‘ and Ajay Devgn‘s sports drama ‘Maidaan‘ that releases over the extended Eid holiday.
