1. FRANKLY SPEAKING (May 1)
What happens when words come out of your mouth completely unfiltered? Well, we will soon find out in the upcoming K-drama Frankly Speaking. Go Kyung Pyo stars as Song Ki Baek, a news anchor who begins to speak unfiltered truth after an accident. Kang Ha Na stars as On Woo Joo, a reality TV writer who goes after Ki Baek to get him on a reality TV show. What happens when their paths cross? We will find that out in Frankly Speaking which premieres on May 1 on Netflix.

2. ATYPICAL FAMILY (May 4)
Jang Ki Yong has returned from military enlistment and is back with a fresh new fantasy K-drama titled Atypical Family. Jang Ki Young stars as Bok Gwi Joo, a man whose family is blessed with superpowers. He is paired opposite Chun Woo Hee as Do Da Hee, a girl from an ordinary family. Gwi Joo can go back in time but only when he is happy. He starts to lose his powers as he descends into depression. But his life changes when he meets Da Hee. Atypical Family is set to premiere on May 4 on Netflix.
3. THE MIDNIGHT ROMANCE AT HAGWON (May 11)
There is a new noona romance in town! Wi Ha Joon, whom we have loved in Squid Games and The Worst of Evil, is back in a breezy new romance story in The Midnight Romance at Hagwon. He stars as Lee Joon Ho, who joins his alumni academy. There he is reunited with his Korean language instructor Son Hye Jin. Jung Ryeo Won stars as Son Hye Jin. Joon Ho has harbored a crush on Hye Jin since she helped him all those years ago. He plans to confess his feelings, but who knows what happens next! The Midnight Romance at Hagwon is set to premiere on May 11.
4. DARE TO LOVE ME (May 13)
Dare to Love Me brings Lee Myung Soo back on screen. He stars as Shin Yoon Bok, a scholar who follows his family’s traditions. He lives in a village which recreates the Joseon era but he wants to become a web novel writer. He moves to Seoul to pursue his dream and there he meets Kim Hong-do (played by Lee Yoo Young). Hong Do works diligently and tirelessly at an apparel company but never gains recognition for her work. Romance strikes when these two people cross paths. Dare to Love Me premieres on May 13.

5. CRASH (May 13)
Lee Min Ki is back in a quirky new drama Crash. He stars as Cha Yeon Ho, a KAIST graduate and Kwak Sun Young stars as Min So Hee, a traffic investigation officer. The two work in the Traffic Crime Investigation Team and investigate traffic-related crimes. The drama also focuses on the relationship between the officers within the department, lending a comic angle to the story. Crash is set to premiere on May 13 on Disney+ Hotstar.

6. UNCLE SAMSIK (May 15)
Song Kang Ho is finally gracing the silver screen with a fresh and intriguing K-drama named Uncle Samsik. The story of Uncle Samsik is set in 1960s Korea where Kang Ho plays Samsik, a fixer who joins hands with Kim San (played by Byun Yo Han). Kim San aspires to reform his country. Samsik is not without a shade of grey either! Uncle Samsik premieres on May 15 on Disney+ Hotstar.
7. THE 8 SHOW (May 17)
Korean reality shows are catching up in popularity. There’s a new reality TV show in town called The 8 Show. Eight participants will stay in a studio room for 100 days. If they can survive through the 100 days, they will win prize money which will be split equally. They can buy things for survival, but the things are very expensive and the cost will be cut from the prize money. How the participants see through the 100 days forms the crux of this reality TV show. The 8 Show is set to premiere on May 17 on Netflix. Ryu Jun Yeol and Chun Won Hee star in this TV show.
8. CONNECTION (May 24)
Ji Sung is back! The actor whom we loved in shows like The Devil Judge, is back in the thrilling crime drama Connection. He stars as Jang Jae Kyoung, a narcotics detective who refuses to make any personal connection. He is turned into a drug addict by a mysterious individual and he thus begins to uncover the truth. Jeon Mi Do stars as Oh Yoon Jin, a reporter who was falsely accused and fired from her previous job. She strives to fight corruption and soon crosses paths with Jae Kyung. Connection premieres on May 24.
9. BITTER SWEET HELL (May 24)
A new mother-in-law and daughter-in-law on-screen pair are in town with the K-drama Bitter Sweet Hell. Kim Hee Sun stars as No Young Won, a celebrity psychologist. She is in a healthy marriage with her husband Jae Jin, who is also a doctor. But her relationship with her mother-in-law and mystery novel writer Hong Sa Gang (played by Lee Hye Young) is quite shaky. But after a fateful incident she and Sa-gang have to come together to solve their problems. Bitter Sweet Hell is set to premiere on May 24.

BONUS: Two more dramas are said to premiere in May 2024, namely Not Very Powerful, but Attractive which stars Kim Dong Wook and Park Ji Wan in the lead. The drama follows the journey of a team of lowest ranking detectives. Other drama is Dreaming of Cinde F*****g rella starring Lee Jun Young as Moon Cha Min, an arrogant club manager with no shred of romance in him and Pyo Ye Jin as Shin Jae Rin who lives in a rosy tinted world.
