Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, speaking at the ET Awards 2023, responded to criticism of Electoral Bond Data. Sitharaman rejected the idea that there was a direct correlation between the Electoral Bond data and the ED investigations, stating that it is not fair to assume that every person visited by the ED later came forward to donate.
