Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Jennifer Mistry Gives Ultimatum to Police ‘File Chargesheet Against Asit Kumarr Modi Else…’

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Jennifer Mistry visited the Powai police station in Mumbai to push for further action in her case against producer Asit Kumarr Modi. She had filed a complaint last year alleging sexual harassment against Modi, the show’s producer, and other members of the production team. In a video statement, Jennifer Mistry expressed her frustration over the delay in filing charges against Modi. She claimed that despite winning the case, the TMKOC makers were spreading false information about her victory.

Mistry criticised their response, questioning why big producers like Modi would leave their work twice to attend hearings at a women’s group. “Vo bol rahe main koi faltu se women’s group ke paas gayi thi aur waha par aisa bol diya gaya. Toh mera ye kehna hain ki faltu ke women’s group ke paas aapke producer itne important, itne bade producer, do baar hearing ke liye chale gaye sab kaam chhod ke? Kamaal hain,” she said in her video.

Jennifer Mistry issued an ultimatum to the police officials, urging them to file a chargesheet against Modi immediately. She warned that if no action will be taken, she might resort to sitting on protest (dharna). “Maine unko ultimatum diya ki agar aapne jaldi nahi kiya ye chargesheet ka kaam, toh mujhe bhi nahi pata main kya karungi. Ho sakta hain yaha par jab Draupadi Murmu ji aa rahi hain main dharna lekar baith jau,” she added.

Jennifer Mistry, who portrayed Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in TMKOC, left the show in 2023 after filing a complaint against Asit Kumarr Modi, the show’s Project Head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for alleged sexual harassment at the workplace. The court recently ruled in her favour, ordering Modi to settle her outstanding dues and pay her Rs 5 lakh as compensation. However, no punishment was given to the other accused Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj.
