Fighter BO: Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone’s actioner soars in the third weekend |

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone‘s film Fighter carried very high expectations as the director Siddharth Anand was coming after the super success of War and Pathaan. But after the first few good days, the film has been on a downward spiral, with intermittent weekend spikes. The film in its first week, minted about Rs 146 crore and dropped by 72% to collect only Rs 41 crore in second week.
As the film was entering its third week, it faced first time competition from Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s latest film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The love story between man and a robot was able to find its audience, and minted about Rs 27 crore over the weekend, and the trade is hopeful that on Monday also it will collect a reasonable amount.
Coming to Fighter, the film soared once again in its third weekend, despite the competition from the Shahid-Kriti starrer. The film collected only Rs 1.75 crore as per industry tracker Sacnilk, and on Saturday it saw a nearly 100% jump to mint Rs 3.65 crore. On Sunday it added another Rs 4 crore into its kitty, taking the third weekend total to Rs 9.4 crore.
Decoding the dry run of the film, Trade Analyst Atul Mohan shared that the film didn’t have much for the audience, he said “ The audience rejected the film, if you compare with the collections of last year’s films, Fighter’s collection wasn’t that huge. Also the pre- release buzz for the film was also cold.A majority of the audience felt that it was a routine kind of film where there will be Pakistan bashing…the audience didn’t feel that there was any WOW ! factor in the film for which they should go and see the film in the theaters.”
