[Exclusive] Vivo X Fold 3 will launch in India; will be thinnest foldable in the country

Vivo X Fold 3 to launch in India

  • As per an industry source, the new Vivo X Fold 3 will also launch in India. Additionally, it will be the “slimmest foldable in the industry”.
  • For reference, the new Fold’s predecessor, the X Fold 2, measures 12.9mm in thickness, which is already quite sleek for a foldable form factor device, and the industry source claims that the new smartphone will measure even less.
  • This will bring the new X Fold 3 quite close to the dimensions of some of the thicker smartphones, such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 8 Pro, which measure 8.6mm and 8.8mm thick, respectively.
  • Vivo’s official launch announcement also gave us a glimpse into the design of the smartphone, and we can observe that the device has a thin body, with a circular camera module at the back and a large cover display on the outside.
  • Unfortunately, the source has not revealed any additional information about the Vivo X Fold 3.
  • You can take a look at the expected specifications of the new foldable below:

Vivo X Fold 3 expected specifications

  • Design: The foldable will feature a new “Armour feather” body with the world’s first foldable SGS five-star anti-drop certification and IPX8 water resistance.
  • Display: Vivo X Fold 3 could feature an 8.03-inch 2K Samsung E7 AMOLED LTPO 8T display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits of peak brightness.
  • At the front, there could be a 6.53-inch cover display
  • Processor: The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is likely to power the foldable device.
  • Cameras: It’s expected to house a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP telephoto periscope zoom lens with Vivo’s V3 imaging chip.
  • Battery, charging: The Vivo X Fold 3 is tipped to pack a 5500mAh battery with 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.
  • The Vivo X Fold 3 will incorporate a “Blue Ocean” battery system, ensuring enduring performance even in challenging conditions
  • Other features: The new foldable is also tipped to come with Android 14, an in-display fingerprint sensor.
