Every Star Wars Disney Plus Show Releasing in 2024

If you thought that Disney was making too many Star Wars shows before, you might not want to check out Disney Plus in 2024. There hasn’t been a movie set in the expansive universe released in theaters since 2019, and there won’t be any this year either (unless you include the re-release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace). While movies are coming down the pipeline, Disney Plus shows are where you’ll find your Star Wars stories this year. Let’s take a look at the five Star Wars Disney Plus shows set to be released in 2024.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch

The first Star Wars show to hit Disney Plus in 2024 is the third and last season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. It is set to follow the team of clones as they attempt to rescue Omega from her imprisonment. In addition to the exciting conclusion, it will also feature the return of a great character, The Clone Wars alum, Asajj Ventress. You can watch The Bad Batch on Disney Plus with new episodes releasing weekly after its three-episode premiere on February 21, 2024.

Tales of the Jedi

The other animated Star Wars show with a release date of 2024, is Tales of the Jedi. A spiritual spin-off of The Clone Wars, the first season of Tales of the Jedi was released in 2022. It followed the stories of two Jedi, Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano. We don’t know much about the second season, only that it currently has a 2024 release date. Who do you hope the show follows this time? Could we see more of Yoda? Or more of lesser-known Jedi like Plo Koon or Quinlan Vos? Let’s hope it’s as good as the first season.

The Acolyte

Set in an interesting time in the Star Wars universe, The Acolyte is also set to release this year. The Disney Plus series is set in the High Republic era, a century before The Phantom Menace. The synopsis for the show reads, “A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.” It stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, and Joonas Suotamo. It was created by Russian Doll co-creator, Leslye Headland.

Another Star Wars Disney Plus series that we haven’t heard much about, is Skeleton Crew, which is set to release sometime in 2024. Unlike the other shows, this is focused on a group of children, although Jude Law and Kerry Condon will reportedly be starring in the series. The synopsis reads, “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew tells the story of four kids who find themselves lost in the vastness of the galaxy trying to find their way home.” It was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, with Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming) serving as the showrunner for the title.

Perhaps every Star Wars fan’s most looked-forward to project is the second and last season of Andor. Now fully entrenched in the rebellion, Andor will follow Cassian Andor’s (Diego Luna) journey up until the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Kyle Soller, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, and Denise Gough will all be reprising their roles. It doesn’t have an exact release date, with 2024 being the rumored date. Although many have surmised that it might have been delayed until 2025 because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. But, we can always hope, right?
