Croatia’s Adriatic coast is incredibly beautiful and British tourists can see the best of it on a once-in-a-lifetime road trip route from Pula to Dubvronik.

While it would take around seven and half hours to drive the route, it’s best to spread it out over a week or two, taking stops in some of Croatia’s prettiest destinations.

Starting in Pula, tourists can check out the city’s Roman ruins, coastline and attractive harbour before hitting the road.

Fit in a stop in Rijeka, another port city on Croatia’s Adriatic coast. Famed as the gateway to many of the country’s islands, take a boat trip if you stay overnight.

From Rijeka, it’s about a three hour drive to Zadar, another popular spot on Croatia’s stunning coast.

Zadar has a pretty old town with Venetian and Roman influences, while it’s also one of the country’s more affordable places to stay.

Croatia’s breathtaking Plitvice Lakes national park is just an hour and a half away from Zadar and it’s worth a detour.

Tourists can hike around the park which is home to some of the world’s most stunning waterfalls.

Split is one of Croatia’s top destinations and it’s a great next place to plan a stop on your road trip.

The city’s Old Town is beautiful and there are beaches just outside the city centre. The Diocletian Palace is a highlight.

From Split, it’s a short journey to the final stop in Dubrovnik. The coastal city may be touristy but it’s popular for a reason.

Walk the city walls and indulge in a seafood meal before catching a flat back to the UK from the airport.
