The much-awaited web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is inching closer to its release on May 1st on Netflix. To celebrate this grand occasion, the makers hosted a star-studded premiere night on Wednesday. The event saw the presence of numerous Bollywood stars, all sporting infectious smiles and making style statements as they came to support the cast and crew. Esha Deol was also in attendance to support her longtime friend Fardeen Khan, who is returning to the screen after 14 years.

Taking to Instagram, Esha Deol shared a series of photos including one with Fardeen. She captioned the post, “Attended the grand premiere of the much awaited Heeramandi & I must say it was just spectacular … we were transported into that era . Sanjay Leela Bhansali ji as always in awe of you. And my dear @fardeenfkhan proud of you ???? welcome back ♥️????. @bhansaliproductions @netflix_in everything & everyone in the show was fabulous.”
Esha Deol and Fardeen Khan have worked together on several movies including No Entry (2005), Just Married (2007) and Darling (2007).
In the series, Fardeen Khan embodies the essence of nobility as Wali Mohammed, a figure of dignity and integrity whose presence commands admiration. He previously said, “Wali Mohammed embodies the essence of a nawab, always standing by the women of Heeramandi. Marking my Netflix debut with such a character feels like the perfect comeback to the screens.”
Bhansali is venturing into the digital world for the first time with Heeramandi. The series is set against the backdrop of the 1940s and promises an epic narrative of love, power, and freedom. With Bhansali at the helm, viewers can expect a visually stunning spectacle, intricate characters, and a story that resonates long after the credits roll.
The series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal along with Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman.
