Making repair easier and more appealing to consumers

At around 18.30, MEPs will debate with Commissioner Johansson the directive on the so-called “right to repair” for consumers, which aims to promote the repair of goods within and beyond the legal guarantee period, resulting in sustainable consumption and reducing costs from new purchases. The final vote on the agreement found with Council will take place on Tuesday, followed by a press conference.

Banning products made with forced labour from the EU market

Plenary will debate from around 20.00 with Commission Vice-President Dombrovskis a new regulation enabling the EU to ban the sale, import and export of goods made using forced labour. A ban would result from an investigation, leading to the products being withdrawn from the EU market and subsequently donated, recycled or destroyed. The final vote on the deal struck with Council will take place on Tuesday, followed by a press conference.

Human trafficking: boosting law enforcement and victims’ rights

From around 20.45, MEPs will debate with Commissioner Johansson revised rules to more effectively fight trafficking in human beings, and to protect its victims. Forced marriage, illegal adoption and exploitation of surrogacy will be covered by the revised directive. The final vote on the agreement with Council will take place on Tuesday.

Reducing microplastics losses. After the opening of the session, MEPs and Commissioner Johansson will debate proposals to prevent and address plastic pellets losses throughout the supply chain, to minimise pollution. The first reading vote will take place on Tuesday.
