According to reports from The Outside Scoop, the film that released on March 1, earned an estimated $100 million at the domestic box office alone and earned additional revenue from international markets, helping it amass a total of around $217 million.
The film which had a budget of $190 million budget, has now comfortably surpassed it within its first week, with a long theatrical run ahead. ‘Dune: Part Two’ has already claimed the title of the highest-grossing film of 2024, outperforming Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s romantic comedy ‘Anyone But You’ which earned $200 million and Jason Statham‘s ‘The Beekeeper’, which earned $152 million worldwide.
According to box office forecasts, the sequel could potentially exceed the half-billion-dollar mark, with projected global ticket sales reaching approximately $505 million. With this, the film will surpass the earnings of the 2021 adaptation of ‘Dune’, which grossed $434.8 million worldwide.
The box office success is attributed to the good ratings and critical acclaim, boasting a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film, featuring an ensemble cast including Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, and Christopher Walken, will potentially have future instalments, including a teased third film titled ‘Messiah’. According to reports, the third film is expected to delve deeper into the characters of Princess Irulan and Chani.
