DONALD Trump has steamrolled through the primary election in Michigan as he continues his march to the Republican nomination.
Fresh off his win in South Carolina, Trump resumed his dominating campaign, earning nearly 70 percent of the votes in Michigan despite showing little effort in the state.

Trump snatched nine delegates by taking 65% of the vote, according to early reporting by Fox News.
For Nikki Haley, it is the third primary where she’s faced Trump one-on-one after Ryan Binkley, a wealthy pastor from Texas who was among the last Republican candidates challenging Trump, dropped out of the race before voters cast their ballots on Tuesday.
Binkley endorsed the former president, writing in an X, formerly Twitter, “I look forward to considering other ways I can make an impact and promote my policy positions.”
On the other hand, Trump defeated Haley in all their one-on-one contests, beating the former United Nations ambassador by 11 points in New Hampshire in January and by 20 points in South Carolina on Saturday.
A defiant Haley has refused to bow to Trump despite losing in her native state, where she served two terms as governor.
“I always said no matter what happens in South Carolina, I will continue to run for President,” Haley told her supporters after Saturday’s results.
“I’m a woman of my word. I’m not giving up this fight when a majority of Americans disapprove of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden.”
Meanwhile, President Biden defeated Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips, however, there was a large number of “uncommitted” votes – surpassing more than 10,000.
Such a big margin of uncommitted votes could mean trouble for Biden in the state come November when Americans are likely to see a rematch between him and Trump.
Trump on the other hand has underperformed with suburban voters and people with a college degree and is facing division within his own party as some believe he has broken the law regarding the criminal cases against him.
Biden easily snagged wins in South Carolina, Nevada, and New Hampshire – the latter via a write-in campaign since he didn’t formally appear on the ballot.
White House and Biden campaign officers traveled to Michigan to speak with community leaders about the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and how Biden has acted on the issue.
However, many of those leaders along with organizers of the “uncommitted” movement haven’t been swayed.
A grassroots effort has been encouraging voters to choose “uncommitted” as a way to show their objection to the president’s handling of the war in Gaza, which has been Biden’s biggest political challenge recently.
The effort has been backed by several officials such as Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is Palestinian, and former Rep. Andy Levin.
