OREO and Deliveroo have joined forces to ensure that Santa’s fireside snacks are delivered, launching a cookie-delivery service just in time for Christmas.
This initiative serves as a festive safety net for parents who may have forgotten to leave out the traditional treats for Father Christmas
The S. O. S service, available only on the 23rd and 24th December, is a response to the 59% of parents who admit to forgetting to leave out cookies, milk and a carrot on Christmas Eve.
A staggering nine in 10 of these parents have had to improvise, substituting with apples (25%), slices of pizza (22%), yoghurts (21%) and sandwiches (20%).
Even Rudolph hasn’t escaped this Christmas oversight, with 34% replacing his carrot with a potato or brussels sprouts (19%).
OREO announced the service in London (Enfield and Canning Town), Bristol and Glasgow to celebrate the release of its gingerbread cookies.
An OREO spokesperson said: “Christmas is such a busy time of year that dashing about buying presents and preparing for festivities means little things can easily be missed or eaten!”
A staggering 37% of parents, preoccupied with festive tasks and traditions, have admitted to forgetting Santa’s Christmas Eve treat. With 32% attributing this to a hectic schedule and 31% feeling overwhelmed by the season.
In fact, 40% of parents confessed to actually eating Santa’s treats themselves. As a result, 26% have had their children worry about Santa not showing up the following year and 25% fear they might have spoiled the Christmas experience for their kids.
Nearly nine out of ten (86%) of these parents said it is important to improvise to keep the Christmas magic alive.
But 59% of all parents surveyed by OnePoll have been more strategic and put out Santa’s treats early in an attempt to get the kids to bed sooner.
Available for just 99p plus delivery, Deliveroo UK users in London, Bristol and Glasgow can search ‘OREO Gingerbread S. O. S. Service’ online or on the app to access the first-come-first-served deal.
