Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol, the ministry said.
The Home Ministry declared the bomb threat targeting schools in the city and nearby regions as a false alarm and urged the public to remain calm. Authorities are following standard procedures, with police and security agencies implementing required measures as per protocol.
“There is no need to panic. Mails appears to be hoaxes. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol,” news agency quoted a home ministry official said.
Schools in the capital city and neighbouring city of Noida were thrown into a panic as 80 of them received bomb threats via email in the morning. Upon notification to local police, all schools were evacuated.
“Some schools of Delhi received e-mails regarding bomb threats. Delhi Police has conducted thorough check of all such schools as per protocol,” Delhi Police said in a post on X.“Nothing objectionable has been found. It appears that these calls seem to be hoax. We request the public not to panic and maintain peace,” it said.DCP New Delhi, Devesh Kumar Mahla said, “We’ve checked all the schools and nothing has been found, there is no need to panic.”
Delhi LG VK Saxena who is inspecting one of the schools that received the threat said that he had sought a detailed probe from the Delhi Police Commissioner.
“Spoke to the Police Commissioner and sought a detailed report into the bomb threats at schools in Delhi-NCR. Directed Delhi Police to carry out a thorough search in school premises, identify the culprits & ensure there are no lapses. I request the parents not to panic and co-operate with the administration in ensuring safety of schools and the children. The miscreants & culprits will not be spared.” LG VK Saxena said.
