According to the school district, the elementary magnet school aims for its students to “become socially responsible global citizens who use technology to access the world.”

The academy’s curriculum emphasizes international students and world languages, which facilitate “critical thinking and broadens mastery of the district’s curriculum. AIS creates a supportive climate where students practice collaborative problem-solving and understand other perspectives while valuing and respecting diversity,” according to the Danbury Public Schools. Students in all grades are offered Spanish classes.
