Italians have found a way to combine two delicacies – chocolate and coffee – to create a delicious drink recipe that’s super easy to make.
Called bicerin, the drink blends espresso, chocolate and milk. It hails from Turin, the the capital of Piedmont – a Northwestern region of Italy that borders France and Switzerland – which is known for its refined architecture baroque buildings and old cafes with regional cuisine line its boulevards and grand squares.

Prepare a tall, 14-ounce heatproof glass by filling it with hot water and rinsing.

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the chocolate in whole milk. Stir in sugar and stir until combined — do not let it boil.

Pour chocolate mixture into the prepared glass.

Top chocolate mixture with a double espresso shot. To create layers, pour espresso over the back of a spoon.

Top with steamed milk. Dust with cocoa powder if using.
