Couple divide critics after installing incredible aquapark inside their home complete with a pool, jacuzzi, palm trees and a WATERFALL… so would YOU want one?

Why venture miles to a water park and spend a fortune when you can build your own oasis at home?

A unique home, based in Chicago, U.S., has caused a splash on social media after footage of its incredible indoor water park was released, showcasing an aquatic paradise in the confines of the private residence.

Originally commissioned by the home’s previous owner, disgraced singer R. Kelly, the project is nothing short of spectacular.

Complete with a pool, jacuzzi, palm trees, and even a waterfall, the in-house water park has sparked mixed reactions from viewers.

A clip posted by @dronehubmedia and @alexwolking on Instagram in February shows the extensive size and intricate details of the aquapark, attaching the caption: ‘These homeowners built a water park in their house.’

The drone footage begins by following a hallway on the ground floor of the sprawling home, which leads to two double doors that open into a room resembling the length of a football pitch.

The walls, which have been painted sea blue, and the thick stone flooring mimic both a rocky shore and a tropical amusement park.

Circular windows have been installed to look like those on a sea vessel, while artificial palm trees and plants line the pool’s edge, enhancing the maritime theme.

The turquoise pool spans a significant portion of the room, with stone steps and iron handles leading into its inviting waters, while a bubbling jacuzzi is tucked away in its own corner, providing a secluded spot for relaxation.

A spectacular wooden bridge arches over the pool, leading to a tiki-themed hut area complete with a wooden picnic table and seating.

One of the standout features is a monumental waterfall, estimated to be 6 to 7 feet high, with neon green ‘vine’ lights decorating the trees, adding a whimsical touch to the tropical setting.

Thousands of viewers praised the homeowners for their creativity in the comments, marveling at the innovative design and luxurious features.

However, some raised concerns over the potential high water bills and the challenge of maintaining sanitation, with comments also pointing out the risk of mould and the potentially overpowering smell of chlorine.

One person wrote, ‘I know that water bill high,’ while another said, ‘That water bill is outrageous.’

A third said: ‘I can smell the chlorine though my phone,’ as another asked, ‘How do you control the mould?’

Another Instagram user quipped: ‘That’s not a waterpark. That’s a tacky indoor pool.’

Meanwhile, one impressed individual wrote, ‘Just beautiful,’ while another said, ‘Honestly I’d be doing the same thing if I was rich.’

Finally, an Instagram user added: ‘This looks fun and creative & its definitely different… I have nothing negative to say. Maybe the ones that do can’t afford it, so it makes sense.’

It comes after a three-bedroom property in leafy Wimbledon debuted on real estate site Rightmove in May – that has an open-plan toilet toilet in one of its rooms.
