While flashing the flesh might not be the original approach, it’s certainly effective if you’re an A-list star looking to plug a product or launch a campaign.
Just ask Beyonce, who barely covered her boobs as she posed in a risque see-through wire bodice this week for Essence magazine’s March/April issue.
She used the sexy shoot to launch her new shampoo brand Cécred.
The singer, 42, has collaborated with her mum Tina, 70, who is a hairdresser and whose workplace inspired her daughter to become a singer.
Beyonce said: “It was in her salon that I realised my dreams of being a performer – inspired by one of her clients who happened to be an opera singer.”
The Halo singer is the latest in a long line of famous faces who have stripped off to flog something.

J-Lo, 54, is no stranger to getting her kit off throughout the years and always manages to look incredible.
Two years ago she dared to bare all for a particularly racy shoot to promote JLo Beauty’s booty balm.
The $65 item helps sooth the look of cellulite and help women emulate her famous behind.
In an interview about the bum cream, she said: “Beauty has no expiration date.”

Pro-golfer turned influencer Paige truly suits advertisers down to a tee.
For this collaboration with LA Golf, to promote their latest set of balls last year, she ditched all her clothes and jumped into a whole bathtub full of the things.
It was a cheeky homage to former LPGA star Jan Stephenson, who posed for a similar – and controversial – snap back in the Eighties.
“Took inspiration from the legend herself!” Paige said. “We are working on something special to honor her. I love to recreate images from women who have inspired me and also give credit where it is due. Jan is the OG.”

In 2006, she posed totally starkers bar a Nikon camera to promote the new device.
She also stripped off in 2022 to launch her brand COSMOSS, which is all about self-care.
Previously, she has explained that being nude was simply something she had to get used to as a model.
She told W magazine: “From the beginning, photographers always got me to take my clothes off, even though I don’t like my body at all. I just had to get comfortable with being naked.”

Kim, 43, has one of the most famous figures of all time and she’s not afraid to flash the flesh.
She opted to pose in just a nude pair of tights in 2021 to promote her shapewear brand SKIMS.
All she had protecting her modesty were her crossed legs and arms over a wicker backdrop.
The brand has been a huge success for the reality star, who is thought to have earned $600million from it.

When Friends star Jennifer stripped off to advertise water, it proved quite the thirst trap.
The actress, 55, showed off her topless figure to promote smart water in 2011.
Last year, she claimed drinking litres of the stuff every day was the key to keeping her youthful looks.
She told CR Fashion Book: “I drink a lot of water, move my body daily. Sometimes I think it’s imperative that we turn off the noise.”
