Bus driver killed, eight passengers hurt in collision with trailer near Alor Gajah

ALOR GAJAH: An express bus driver was killed and two passengers seriously injured after the vehicle they were in crashed into the rear of a trailer at KM220.4 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) northbound, near here.

Six other passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said in the 2.30am Monday (March 11) incident, Zulkarnain Jalil, 41, suffered injuries to his body and died at the scene.

He said the bus carrying 30 passengers was on its way to Kuala Lumpur from Larkin, Johor.

Supt Arshad said the 44-year-old driver of the trailer was on his way to Senawang, Negri Sembilan from Kota Tinggi in Johor.

The trailer was transporting glass sheets.

Supt Arshad said the trailer was on the fast lane of the expressway when the oncoming bus rammed into it.

He added that the injured were sent to hospitals in Seremban and Rembau.

Supt Arshad said the uninjured passengers were taken to Kuala Lumpur on another bus.
