brand to reportedly launch 17 new smartphones in 2024

Nokia set to release new smartphones

  • As per a report by GSMChina, Nokia is preparing to launch 17 new smartphones on the market.
  • GSMChina has spotted 17 new smartphone model numbers ranging from TA-1603 to TA-1628 on the IMEI database.
  • It’s possible that these models are either different RAM/storage variants of the primary phones or entirely different phones altogether.
  • Some of the smartphones could launch at the upcoming MWC (Mobile World Congress).
  • The website doesn’t reveal any other information regarding the upcoming smartphones, except that the smartphones will bear the Nokia brand and not the HMD brand.
  • Nine new HMD-branded phones were also spotted recently on the IMEI database, bearing the model numbers TA-1584, TA-1594, TA-1595, TA-1588, TA-1589, TA-1592, TA-1602, TA-1605, and TA-1631.
  • 91mobiles had also previously shared the renders of one of the HMD smartphones, which revealed its design.
  • Information revealed earlier exclusively to 91mobiles had stated that Nokia would sell phones offline, while HMD would cater to the online market.

What does it mean for Nokia?

This suggests that the Nokia brand is still present and will grace the market with some new smartphones as per the developments. HMD is also planning to step into the smartphone market, and we recently got a glimpse at a smartphone with HMD branding on the rear panel and a 108MP OIS-enabled camera. HMD Global is likely to introduce its own-branded smartphones in the Indian market around April 2024.
