The glitz and glamour return to Mumbai as the Macho Hint presents Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit and Awards 2024 kicked off its second edition. Starting on May 2, at the Taj Lands’ End, the event promises to be a star-studded celebration of style and talent in the Indian entertainment industry. This year’s ceremony goes beyond just awards. Industry insiders and fans can also look forward to invigorating panel discussions featuring prominent figures. The last panel of the day was of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar which saw the presence of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
Bollywood Hungama Style Icons 2024: Richa Chadha recalls Sanjay Leela Bhansali offering her multiple song choices for Heeramandi: “He is that collaborative”
The series arrived on Netflix on May 1, marking Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first series for the streaming giant. Though opened with mixed reviews, the performances have been applauded. In the session on Thursday, the actors offered a glimpse into the creative process behind the web series, revealing the intricate details that will bring Bhansali’s vision to life.
During the session, Richa Chadha talked about Bhansali giving her three songs to choose from for her sad track and that’s how ‘Masoom Dil Hai Mera’ came to be. Recalling the moment, Richa said, “He is very collaborative. The second episode had one song and I think he made me hear three songs to listen and asked that each character has some kind of pain so which song would your character resonate with.” She said that he goes to a different level to collaborate with the cast.
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is a visually stunning and emotionally charged drama. Set against the backdrop of the Indian independence movement during the British Raj, the series explores the lives of courtesans, known as tawaifs, residing in Lahore’s red-light district of Heera Mandi.
The second edition of the Macho Hint presents Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit and Awards 2024 in association with Cinema Waale Film and Television Productions LLP and Across Media Solution, is being held on May 2, 2024, at Taj Lands’ End in Mumbai. The highlights of the award show apart from the invigorating panel discussions are expected to be big names like Ajay Devgn, Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor and so many more.
