Board exam question papers delivered by helicopter? Yes, for 36 students in Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh government employed a helicopter to deliver question papers for board examinations to an exam center situated in the remote and Naxalite-affected Sukma district. The Class 12 examinations of the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) commenced today while Class 10 exams are scheduled to begin the following day.

This marks the second consecutive year that a helicopter has been utilized to transport board exam papers to the Jagargunda exam center in Sukma. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s office shared images on its social media platform depicting a helicopter transporting question papers to the Jagargunda center.

“This is our Chhattisgarh, where the future of children is our topmost concern. Question papers were sent by helicopter to Jagargunda in Sukma. Appreciating this effort of the district administration, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that this initiative taken for the bright future of the children of tribal areas is praiseworthy. Let no child remain deprived of a good education,” the post said.

Out of the 16 examination centers in Sukma district, question papers were airlifted to the Jagargunda center via helicopter on February 27 due to security concerns. A total of 36 students, including 16 from Class 12 and 20 from Class 10 representing various schools, are scheduled to sit for exams at the Jagargunda center.

In the ongoing academic session, over 2.61 lakh students have registered for the Class 12 state board examination, scheduled from March 1 to 23, while more than 3.45 lakh students will participate in the Class 10 board exams, scheduled between March 2 and 21. A total of 2,475 examination centers have been established across the state to facilitate the examinations, according to officials. (With PTI inputs)
