Blind spaniel dies after being savaged by “oversized bullys”

TWO out-of-control XL Bully types killed a blind dog as they savaged it in front of its distraught owner.

The “oversized” beasts clamped their jaws on the defenceless cocker spaniel after pouncing as a woman walked her in a park.

Two “oversized bullys” feared to be XLs, like this one, attacked the defenceless spaniel

A man walking the killer pair — feared to be XL Bullys — struggled to pull them away and then left the scene.

A source told The Scottish Sun: “People are terrified as apparently there was no way of stopping them.

“A young guy was seen trying to pull them off but as soon as he got one back, the other lunged again. They were massive oversized Bully types, very powerful dogs and he just couldn’t stop them.

“God forbid these two got hold of a child. They need to be found and destroyed.”

The owner of the six-year-old spaniel was walking her in the park just half a mile from the town’s high school.

The two grey Bullys were unmuzzled and off lead when they charged at the smaller pet in Dunblane.

The man with them, described as in his 20s or 30s, fought to pull them back but was unable to prevent them savaging the smaller dog before he vanished.

Her distraught owner rushed her to the vets after Monday’s horror but they could not save the pet.

Fraser Stewart, 55, who witnessed the aftermath, said: “A young lady ran out of the park in a highly upset state. She had blood on her hands and trousers. My immediate thought was that she herself had been attacked.”

Another local said she saved another pet which was attacked by the pair previously and had to have part of its ear removed.

Police said: “An investigation is under way following a report of two dogs attacking another dog, a spaniel, in the Braemar Park area of Dunblane on Monday, March 11.

“The spaniel dog has subsequently died and enquiries are ongoing.”

Stirling Council added: “We can confirm this incident was reported to our animal control team.

“Officers have liaised with Police Scotland on the incident with a police-led investigation now underway.”

XL Bullys must be muzzled and on a lead in public under new laws.
