Bengal BJP Leadership has decided to complete setting up Lok Sabha related committees by mid- January in a two-day organizational meeting in Kolkata. Altogether 101 committees have been formed for Lok Sabha polls, people in the know told ET.
Talking about the recent Sandeshkhali incident, Jyoti said, “It is unfortunate. Law & order is a state matter. The way ED was attacked, all will criticize them. I think Mamata Banerjee should control those who have been engaged in hooliganism in the state. This is the same West Bengal which has uprooted Communists and Mamata Banerjee may have to face the same fate.
“Mamata Banerjee government is traumatized now. The government officials cannot be attacked at any cost…Attacking the central agency officials, BJP workers and vandalizing the house of a soldier-Trinamool must understand that communist government in Bengal was thrown away by the people of Bengal. Mamata Banerjee is not someone who will not face the same fate. The same people will uproot her.”
Responding to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s comments that Ram Mandir is a gimmick”, the Union Minister said, “Ram Mandir is not an agenda, it is a belief and matter of faith (‘astha’). Ramlala is getting established on his seat,” Jyoti commented.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting for discussion about Lok Sabha polls strategies with West Midnapore district MLAs and party leadership. Discussion was held on strategies of winning the seat in the district, sources said.
