Bhajan Lal Sharma: From ‘Apne Sharma Ji’ to CM designate; residents want Bhajan Lal Sharma to celebrate his birthday with them

For some Rajasthan Chief Minister designate Bhajan Lal Sharma is “Apne Sharma ji” or “Bhaisaab” and for many he is the person who always took stand on any issue in the society.

Residing in apartment 705 at Balaji Towers in Malviya Nagar, Sharma falls within the jurisdiction of the Bagru constituency. Despite this, the community members in his residential complex have consistently backed Sharma, who emerged victorious in the election from Sanganer. The announcement of his name as the Chief Minister-designate might have caught them off guard, but the festivities persisted well into the late evening.

The neighbours and members of the society now want Sharma to celebrate his birthday on December 15 with them before shifting to chief minister’s bungalow after taking oath, reported TOI.

Geeta Sharma, wife of Bhajan Lal, was excited and happy. She was greeted by a group of women who were taking selfies with her. “Sabhi ko aabhar, Modi Ji ka Ashirwad hai aur Bansiwale ki kripa hai,” said Sharma.

She was short of words and very emotional after people started greeting her. She went to her house and offered prayers at her house situated temple. “It is tough to believe. We are thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and other leadership of BJP that has made us believe that any common worker can reach to the top if he works hard. He has been living in this apartment for past seven years and attended every function of the society from Navratri to Ganesh Chaturthi,” said Jayshree Sharma, a resident of flat situated on the fifth floor of the society and preparing for RAS examination.

Jayshree mentioned that as December 15 is anticipated to be Sharma’s inauguration day, coinciding with his birthday, she hopes he chooses to celebrate his birthday with the inhabitants of the apartment.”Bahut hi simple insaan hain, sabse raam raam karte hain (He is so down to earth person who greets everyone with Ram Ram),” said Ritu Tomar, a housewife who lives at the second floor situated flat in the housing society. “We want him to celebrate his birthday with us only even after taking oath and before shifting for the CM’s residence,” said Tomar.Large number of BJP workers and supporter started gathering Balaji apartment with garlands, sweets and also arranged for Dhol and firecrackers. Police personnel had a herculean task as the chief minister’s security was concerned with the increasing number of supporters who was hugging and greeting each other.

However, the family, including wife and son of Bhajan Lal preferred to lock themselves inside the house.
