Samsung 24-inch Odyssey G3 — $120, was $200
It’s rare to find one of Samsung’s better gaming monitors at a budget-friendly price, but this 24-inch monitor is a great example. It runs an FHD resolution, but more importantly, it can hit a 165Hz refresh rate, so it’s perfect for those who like playing more action-packed games. The lower resolution also means that you can probably get that refresh rate even with something like an RTX 4070, so you don’t need to spend thousands on high-end graphics cards. The Odyssey G3 also comes with FreeSync Premium and 1ms MPRT response times, so it’s pretty fast for its price tag. The only real downside is that it can only manage 250 nits of peak brightness, so you’ll need a relatively dark room to use it.
LG 27-inch 4K Monitor — $200, was $350
The LG 27-inch 4K Monitor is a great price for a 4K monitor. It has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 while there’s also VESA DisplayHDR 400 support so you get fantastic colors and natural light and shadow. It also has DCI-P3 95% coverage of the color spectrum so it’s a good bet for any image editing plans you may have. There’s also support for AMD FreeSync to ensure smoother screen tearing and less input lag. It’s a solid all-rounder at this price. While it won’t be the best option for gaming or video editing, it’s a good bet for a little bit of everything in your life.

This 32-inch curved monitor from Samsung is a great option for gaming and is absolutely packed with features if you’re looking to up your graphics. It runs a 2560 x 1440 resolution, and can hit a very impressive 240Hz refresh rate, which, we’ll be honest, you might have a hard time reaching without graphical compromises, even with something like the RTX 4080. You’ll also appreciate the 1millisecond response time, as well as the HDR 600, although it should be noted that monitor HDR isn’t quite at the same level as TV HDR. Part of that is the fact that this monitor can only hit a peak SD brightness of 350 nits of peak brightness, so it’s not that bright, although it should be enough that even some room lighting shouldn’t be an issue.

The Dell UltraSharp 49 Curved USB-C Hub Monitor also has a USB-C hub built-in so there are two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, four USB 3.2 ports, two USB-C ports, and a USB-C port with Power Delivery. We wouldn’t recommend it for gamers due to its 60Hz refresh rate but if you’re passionate about your home office setup, this is the solution for you.
When do Labor Day monitor sales start?

Labor Day is officially on September 2 so that’s when the deals, in theory, will peak, but we’re sure to see a growing number in the run up to the day with retailers likely to host sales that weekend and for the coming days afterwards too. That’s ok because often, discounts are just incrementally more cheaper at Black Friday compared to Labor Day so you’ll still be reaping a great discount either way.
