This beautiful island has been named the “sunniest place in Europe in May” with temperatures averaging around 25C. 

Kos, the third largest in Greece’s Dodecanese islands, is a favourite amongst travellers.

It’s a hit with families, groups of friends and couples who are drawn to its vibrant nightlife, local cuisine, activities and beautiful hotels.

The island is known for its stunning beaches, picturesque villages and wealth of historic sites. 

Known as the birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of medicine, Kos feels like an open-air museum.

It has been named “the sunniest place in Europe in May” by travel company 101 Holidays, as it boasts 11 hours of sun daily. 

Kos is also the warmest Greek island in May with daytime temperatures of 25 degrees. 

It boasts an international airport that caters to flights from several locations in Greece, as well as seasonal flights from abroad during the summer months.

You can also get a direct flight, which takes around four hours, from many airports across the UK.
