JAMMU: As many as nine people have been booked in three Jammu and Kashmir districts for allegedly posting “objectionable” content on social media in connection with the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla’s idol at Ayodhya on Jan 22.
Police booked five individuals in Ramban district, three in Reasi district and one person in Rajouri district under relevant sections of law for uploading offensive posts about the historic event.
“All social media platforms are under constant watch and all posts/comments are being monitored by Ramban District Police’s cyber cell,” said Ramban SSP Mohita Sharma on Wednesday, adding that strict action would be taken against anyone who posts online content that is provocative or attempts to spread hatred.
