Yami Gautam starrer ‘Article 370‘ has managed to woo the audience and critics alike. The film continues to remain steady in theatres as it reaches its third weekend. Made on a moderate budget, the collection of the film is quite encouraging as it has now crossed Rs 100 crore gross at the worldwide box office. This is Yami’s first female lead film to cross a century worldwide. Earlier she had ‘Kaabil‘ alongside Hrithik Roshan which made 144.22 crore, ‘URI‘ with 342.06 crores, ‘Bala’ with 172 crores, ‘OMG 2’ with 150 crores.
As far as the domestic box office is concerned, as per Sacnilk, ‘Article 370’ made Rs 65 lakh on its day 22 as per early estimates. With that, the film’s total has now landed up at Rs 69.70 crores. Though, it looks difficult for the film to reach Rs 100 crore at the domestic box office. Along with ‘Article 370’ there is another film like ‘Laapataa Ladies‘ which is gathering some audience through positive word of mouth. But the Yami Gautam starrer is holding better.
Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra’s big actioner ‘Yodha’ released this Friday and on Day 1, it managed to make a little less than Rs 5 crore. This is quite less than expected and one had hoped that it would completely dominate the box office. Yet, other movies are not really facing a tough competition from this one.
The business of Saturday and Sunday will further decide the fate of these movies at the box office.
