The list of hate and vandalism incidents in Newton continues to grow, as police responded to another home with a pro-Israel sign after someone tossed a rock through its window.
The local cops have been investigating several anti-Israel vandalism incidents in recent weeks amid the Israel-Hamas war. Last weekend, police responded to a Homer Street home for damaged Israeli kidnapping posters.
Police have also responded to instances of “We Stand with Israel” signs being defaced, and an incident involving a rock being thrown through a window of a home with a sign supporting Israel.
Then on Thursday, Newton Police announced the department received a report of a Botsford Road home that was “maliciously damaged” by a rock thrown through a window.
“The home had a sign displayed supporting Israel,” Newton Police posted. “The home owners were away on vacation when the crime occurred. A timeframe for the crime is still being determined, possibly February 14th-March 20th.
“It is not known if this crime is connected to the previous incidents reported,” police added.
Last weekend, the lawn signs with the names and faces of those held hostage for more than 5 months were defaced with black spray paint outside the home of Jeff and Miriam Kosowsky. Detectives have been canvassing the neighborhood, and police were asking neighbors to review any surveillance camera footage from Saturday to the early morning hours of Sunday.
