Android plots bizarre free upgrade that adds sound reactions to calls including a drum roll and POOP

GOOGLE appears to be trialling a new form of virtual interactions, dubbed ‘audiomojis’, in its Android Phone app.

According to TheSpAndroid, these audiomojis could let users reply in calls or texts with silly sound-assisted animations.

Google has made not mention of the feature publicly

The sound reaction feature is reportedly similar to the reaction effects feature in Google Messages.

While Google Messages has been receiving lots of new updates in the past year, it looks like Google has turned its focus onto the Phone app.

There are currently six reactions to choose from, such as: drum roll, sad, applause, party popper, laugh, and poop.

But if they’re anything like messenger emojis – this is just the beginning.

Picture this: your friend makes an announcement followed by an applause audiomoji.

Or, a your sibling makes a joke alongside a comical poop sound.

The drum roll reaction has been shared by TheSpAndroid, but the rest remain a secret for now.

Google has made not mention of the feature publicly.

But if it’s in a recent beta version of the app, there’s a possibility it could be rolled out soon.

It’s unclear exactly how the feature will appear in the Phone app, or how it will be used.

TheSpAndroid said that “the code doesn’t really give much clues and not all of the code is there in beta version”.

However, the outlet suggested that the reaction could appear on the caller screen when you are in call with someone or it could be available to only users with “Call Screen” feature.
