Android owners notice free little-known hack instantly saves loads of time – it’s perfect if you have too many photos

ANDROID users have spotted a nifty new trick that helps you sift through thousands of photos on your phone.

It’s all too easy to let your snaps go wild making it impossible to find the ones you want.

But Google has come up with a genius way to get around this common problem.

And it’s called Photo Stack.

When switched on, the feature will group similar shots together.

So, if you take a dozen photos of your dog on the beach they’ll be tidily put into one stack.

This makes it a lot easier to navigate.

A Reddit user reported that the tool had appeared on their Pixel 8 device over the weekend.

“I just got this feature and I love it already!” they wrote.

“As someone who spams the camera button to get the perfect split second shot, this cleans up my library a lot.”

It’s not clear whether Photo Stack is available on all Android phones just yet, as the feature is rolling out.

The option seems to appear as a popup in the Photos app, so you might want to start by checking there.

You’ll be given a choice of two buttons.

“Turn on photo stacks” or “No thanks”.

Apparently, you can choose the best image of the bunch and automatically delete the rest in the stack if you want.
